Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. Love, God. (Hebrews 13:3 )

THE TESTIMONIES ARE STAGGERING:

Daughter of China is being read by teens, young adults, and adults all over the world.  (Daughter of China is a novel based on true testimonies of modern day persecuted Christians in China and women and their daughters who face the one child policy there.)  Let's brag on what Jesus is doing through the lives of these readers!

  • 2 university students in the USA are now planning to teach English in China upon their graduation!
  • A university student in Indonesia excitedly introduced her English class to this book
  • Numerous teenagers and young adults have told me they are planning a short term missions trip to take Bibles into China after reading Daughter of China
  • Several home schooled young people e-mailed me to let me know that God called them to be missionaries to China while reading this book
  • A personal note-- my husband's cousin gave his heart to Jesus!  Yeah God!
  • Teens in the USA are bringing the book to public school English classes
  • An online book club has recommended Daughter of China to more than 2500 libraries in the USA
  • Several families have decided to adopt Chinese orphans after reading the book!
  • A Canadian mother is not only going to China's orphanages next year, but she is passionately writing polite letters of protest to Chinese government officials, asking them to "Let the orphans go" to loving adoptive families.
YOUNG ADULTS/TEENS SAY:
  • One teen held her Bible tight to her chest and told her youth group, “I didn't know how much this Bible really means to me until now.”
  • Last Christmas I received this e-mail: "I'm 16 and just finished your book, Our lights were out (power outage).  I got the book for a Christmas present, so I read through the whole night. I couldn't put your book down. I want to help in some way, do you have any suggestions?"

  • 15 year old home schooler: "I am almost finished reading your book, I hate to put it down. Daughter of  China makes my heart burn with fire and I am humbled by the ability of these precious saints to forgive the people who kill their families and friends. I am daily reminded to forgive people in my life who maybe do the simplest things to my family, like badmouth my brother, or hurt my sisters heart.  Even in these small situations its hard for me to forgive! So the story of these saints is an exhortation I desperately need in my life.

  • 20 year old university student:  Your book was given to me by my mother and she has instructed everyone in my family that they are to read it.  I am attending  ______ University in Pennsylvania right now but I am also praying Gods will for my life.  China has a special place in my heart now and I know God will use me for his purpose.

"Daughter of China is a penetrating look into the world of the persecuted church.  It provides a rarely seen glimpse of a young woman’s search for her identity in Christ amid the most flagrant abuses of human dignity.  Challenged by the struggles and faith of the characters, readers will be forced to examine their own faiths.  Read with caution—the prospect of persecution is frighteningly real and compels the reader to face the reality of a world without freedom.  I am pleased to have shared LIFE Outreach’s ministry in China with Hope and to have seen such a great work grow from it."

"Daughter of China takes you into the world of the Chinese underground church with vivid portrayal of the day-to-day hardships and joys our brothers and sisters experience.  The gripping narrative and literary tension kept me turning pages until, before I knew it, I was finished with the book – but not with China!"

CHARLES C. STOCK, SENIOR PASTOR
LIFE CENTER MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL
(Charles Stock is Hope’s pastor in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania)

"Daughter of China is a powerful and compelling story of a young girl who risks everything during her journey of faith.  It’s an adventure into Christian mission well worth reading.  Hope Flinchbaugh has captured a world few American Christians will ever encounter."

TIMOTHY C. MORGAN, DEPUTY MANAGING EDITOR
CHRISTIANITY TODAY

"Daughter of China is a gripping portrayal of the double crosses carried by women in China who are looked down upon as females and as Christians.  We have met such women in the fields at night, in alleyways, and in homes across the vast provinces of this Communist nation.  We have found this book to be an accurate representation of the hostile conditions surrounding the majority of Chinese Christians today that do not frequent the large public church buildings visited by tourists.  Their overcoming faith is an inspiration.  To understand the heartbeat of the Chinese church, you must read this book."
